We all know that we can’t accomplish much of anything beyond mediocre without the right people. At some level, extraordinary businesses have a no-tolerance mindset towards mediocrity which results in a high number of outstanding performers.
Is this harsh? Of course not. If you want to be the best, you have to select and coach the best. The deeper your team’s talent pool, the easier it is for you to leverage opportunities, proactively effect change, and drive outstanding results.
The Rule: Who (talent) matters more than what (task). If you don’t have the right person in the right seat on that proverbial bus of yours, you can't get to your desired destination (results). Stop lying to yourself! If they aren’t cutting it, cut them.
A high bar helps your people reach their true potential. A low bar serves no one. Talented leaders make the cut!
