My daughter turned 15 this week. It is still extraordinary to me that they let me leave the hospital with her 15 years ago! There is no real "training program" on how to be a great parent. I was blessed as I was "older" when I had her so my many friends, whom I admired as parents, have been my parenting coaches and mentors. I was never afraid to ask those I respected for their opinions on just about any parenting topic. I still ask!
As I look at my 15-year-old today, I can’t help but think about how blessed I am to have her in my life.
This is also true when I look at the people I work beside each day. Over the last 21 years, my fellow Aspirates have been many and with few exceptions, they have each enhanced my life in some way.
A full life is one that has many sources of love in it. And the only way to honor your life is to express your gratitude.
We are all so busy. There is always too much on our never-ending to-do lists. Take a moment today to reflect on how blessed you are for the family, friends and colleagues you are lucky enough to stand beside and for the many who love you.
Hell, a "thank you" might make sense, too. After all, they put up with you!
