Every day we have the opportunity to bring a little sunshine into someone’s life. Imagine if each of the 7.6 billion people on the planet chose to bring joy into another’s life today?
Energy is what makes the world go round. It is what gets us up and moving, and the lack of it can take us down for the count. I am often asked where my passion comes from. For those of you who know me, it was a gift I learned early on…that life is to be lived and cherished.
Each day we have a choice: How will we see and experience both, our world and the people around us?
We can help people shine or we can turn off their light. Encouragement and engagement are easy tasks if we make a decision to get fanatical about them. When I needed some light it was my father who used to say, “Renie, in life you have to bring your good time with you!” He was right, and as leaders we can help others see that they too can bring their good time with them and shine the light.
This world could use a lot of light, so today, I challenge you to shine the light on 5 people. Here are a few approaches that will make it easy:
1. Smile at everyone you see.
2. Give someone extra encouragement. Acknowledge as much good work as you can find all day.
3. Respect physical distancing. Wear a mask so others feel safe. Wave high so you still connect.
4. Make someone laugh.
5. Say you are sorry to that person you needlessly blamed.
When we shine the light on others, it always reflects back on us. Be someone's light. SHINE BRIGHT.
